Lawrence A. Gerlach, MBA, CPA

Vice President & Chief Financial Officer

Gerlach serves as the CFO and Vice President of The Harlem Irving Companies, Inc., Under this umbrella falls real estate finance, corporate credit lines, accounting and financial reporting, as well as project projections and proformas. In addition to his fiscal duties, Gerlach assists in negotiating leases with major tenants and redevelopment agreements with municipalities.


Prior to coming to Harlem Irving Companies, Gerlach was the Chief Financial Officer of the Atlanta Development Authority. He was responsible for all the financial matters pertaining to the Authority (ADA) and its thirty component units plus their Real Estate Asset Management Group. The ADA is a quasi-governmental authority that serves as the development arm for the City of Atlanta.

From 2004-2005 Gerlach was a member of Accenture’s Finance & Performance Management Group with a focus on Shared Services design and organizational transformation.

Prior to Accenture Gerlach served as the CEO of Shared Services for Lend Lease U.S. As CEO he was responsible for the design and implementation of the U.S. Shared Services Group. The group’s focus was to provide a flexible support structure for functions that cross Lend Lease entity lines in North America supporting in excess of 5,000 employees.

Previously, Lawrence was Senior Vice President/Director of Client Accounting Services for Jones Lang LaSalle. Gerlach was responsible for all property financial reporting in North America, including 600 office properties, 50 regional malls and over 3,000 facility assignments.

Prior to joining Jones Lang LaSalle, Gerlach was Chief Financial Officer for The Yarmouth Property Management Group, another Lend Lease Company.

Education & Accreditation

Gerlach served as President of the National Association of Real Estate Companies from 1998 to 2000 Lawrence earned his B.S. in accounting from Northern Illinois University in 1977 and a Masters of Management from The Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University in 1990. He is also a Certified Public Accountant and was the 2003 Chairman of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) National Real Estate Conference.
